This blog is written from my heart. It’s a blog about being true to oneself as a mother, a human, and a creative being. About making the most out of life, even if it’s a less ordinary kind of life, like mine.
The idea of « Hygge » has always been very magical to me. Being a Half-blood Dane, makes Hygge a part of your genetic makeup, even though I had nothing close to a soothing or loving upbringing in Denmark. I always longed for the magic of a “Hyggelig” atmosphere in my life. In my adult life, I’ve always tried to create and achieve a “Hyggelig”, Loving and Beautiful atmosphere around me. Even though I often were ridiculed for my attempts of creating something extraordinary (something magical) by ignorant family members. I kept on searching for ways to create more magic in my life. I believe these people, who should have been supportive and loving, lacked empathy and understanding for my endeavors. Which led them into the ugly road of sabotage. They tried to sabotage my creativity, my confidence, my life, and my family with their ignorance. Even though it hurt a lot, and we’re still healing, we never let it It ruin our family’s true spirit of magic and wonder.
I always had a strong inner voice telling me, “no matter what happens in your life, you must stay true to your purpose, keep on traveling, creating and sharing beautiful, soothing and loving things, moods and foods”.
Balanced Living = Hygge
I believe it is possible to live a sustainable, beautiful and prosperous life. I actually believe it enriches our lives in so many ways, if we go back to basics but stay adventurous. Sustainable living is not just about eating organic, or dressing up in home knitted wooly socks (I don’t knit nor wear wooly sweaters/socks). To me the essence of sustainable living is to find true balance in your life, balance in your daily consumption is just the top of the iceberg, really, as a traveling family we move a lot around and we’ve found ways to do this too, without leaving a massive Co2 imprint.
I believe we could make a lasting change, if we taught ourselves how to truly respect the people around us, accepting each others differences, meeting each other without prejudice, respecting our surroundings and most importantly the earth as a part of us, it’s our true Mother, therefore we must treat it with love, care, admiration, respect and gratitude.
We need to appreciate all the little things in life, those that cannot be easily measured, branded or bought in a shop.
To me, Hygge is a feeling of belonging, that I never felt as a child myself. The feeling of being golden, cozy, safe, warm, at home and surrounded by true LOVE. It’s not woolen socks or blankets, however, there is nothing wrong with cozying up in front of a fire with blankets and hot chocolate, but it’s only Hygge if you have someone dear to share it with or a place that makes you feel like you belong.
This is a blog about my sincerest endeavor in life, creating sustainable Hygge & Magic around me and embracing those I love with precisely that ♥️
Thanks for reading and supporting my blog 🙏🏽
Have a Magical Day✨
